The Science of Buddhist Meditation:Dr Peter Malinowski
Meditation is central to all forms of Buddhist practice and it aims at comprehensive well- being and happiness. In recent years the effects of meditation have attracted the attention of the scientific community and this has resulted in a growing number of research projects investigating the psychological and physiological effects of meditation practice.
On the occasion of its 10th Anniversary, the Liverpool Diamond Way Buddhist Centre is delighted to invite everybody to a public talk which will explain the meeting of Buddhism and Science.
Dr. Peter Malinowski, Director of the Meditation and Mindfulness Research Group at Liverpool John Moores University and co-founder of the Liverpool Diamond Way Buddhist Centre will introduce both the buddhist and the scientific understanding of meditation and will outline some of the main research findings.
The talk is suitable for audiences without prior scientific knowledge.
